Software selection

A clearer workspace evaluation for county-level teams.

Distributed coordinators need consistent record definitions and clear ownership. Evaluate administrative workflows across locations without assuming that one dashboard solves access or reconciliation.

Start with the administrative work

  1. Create a common naming convention for locations, teams and administrative responsibilities.
  2. Test whether two coordinators interpret the same status the same way. Document what changes a record from pending to reviewed.
  3. Prepare an example reconciliation: compare the source list, the workspace view and an export, without loading real voter or donor information into a public demo.

Questions to take into a software evaluation

  • Who can edit shared records, and how are conflicting updates resolved?
  • Do exports preserve the source and reporting period?
  • What support is available when a coordinator cannot access the system?

Try a small, honest example

Explore a related fictional workflow, then write down which interactions you could actually complete. Ask for evidence of anything that remains untested.
